Spencer's Mission Call

Today Spencer attended a funeral service for his friend Garrick Hable who passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008. Spencer was a pallbearer for his 18 year old wrestling team mate and friend. It was a very sad day and Garrick will be missed. When Spencer arrived home he had a large envelop from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints waiting for him that suspiciously looked like a mission call. He had to wait for all of the family to get home before he could open it -he almost wore a hole in the floor. At 5:30 everyone finally got home and he opened the call… he will be serving in the Chile Concepcion, Spanish speaking, Mission. He will enter the Mission Training Center in Provo, Utah June 11, 2008. Spencer is extremely excited and wishes he could go sooner. We love Spencer so much and know he is going to be a great missionary. We appreciate his good example and his willingness to serve.

CONGRATULATIONS SPENCER!! It is truly exciting! You will be such a great missionary and what a cool adventure to go to Chile! Wow! Thanks for your example to our kids. We are so proud of you! Do you think they'll be able to pronounce "Elder Cake" in Chile? Hmmmmm....On a different note, we were so sorry to hear about your friend. Good luck with everything! We love ya!
