Day 65 of Transplant

Spencer and Kelly at the eye doctors. It has been 65 days since Kelly's transplant. Boy, does time fly! He is doing great! He hasn't had any major set backs just recovering and getting stronger everyday. Ya Who!

No More Glasses!

April 9, 2007, Spencer's last day of ever wearing glasses. He decided to get Lasik before his mission so he wouldn't have to worry about contacts or glasses while on his mission. He had the procedure done at Hoops. They gave him the royal treatment! He got to sit in a message chair, eat hot chocolate chip cookies, received a DVD of his procedure, got a mug with candy in it, gogles, and sunglasses. They were all very nice and everything went well. Spencer says he wished that he would have paid more attention to how his eye sight was because he can't remember - He has had glasses since 2nd grade - how could a person not remember how bad there eye sight was. He can see and he said it is just like wearing his contacts. We hope he enjoys his vision without the hassels for many years to come.

George's Birthday!

George, Kelly and the boys usually go to the priesthood session together and then out for dinner afterwords. This year after the priesthood session the boys went to dinner and found all of the girls (Sally, Vickie, Megan, Amie, Chloe, Jessica and me) along with David and Colton there waiting to celebrate George's 74th birthday. What a surprise for George! (notice the look on his face) It was a lot of fun -Happy Birthday!

Cooper Family Reunion

On March 29th our family enjoyed the Cooper reunion and celebration of Grandpa and Grandma's 67 wedding anniversary. Almost all of the family was there. It was held in Richfield. It was so fun to see and visit with everyone.

Spring Break

I have been under the weather the last couple of weeks but there has been a lot going on. We spent spring break in St. George with Grandpa and Grandma Despain. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing in the warm sun. Thanks for having us!

Spring Fling

March 15, 2007, Jessica went on her first date. She went with Matt Schroeder, a friend and young man in our ward. It was Spring Fling (a school dance). The weather was more like winter it was snowing pretty hard. Kelly and I drove Jessica and Matt and another couple. They had a total of six couples in their group. They started off with a day activity, the girls dressed up funny and they played dodge ball and ate pizza for lunch. Then all of the girls went to Cameo and had their hair done. They ate dinner at the Spaghetti Factory before the dance. They all had fun and they all looked so nice dressed up. Afterwords they watched a movie at Pelar's house (one of the girls in the group).

Spencer's Mission Call

Today Spencer attended a funeral service for his friend Garrick Hable who passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008. Spencer was a pallbearer for his 18 year old wrestling team mate and friend. It was a very sad day and Garrick will be missed. When Spencer arrived home he had a large envelop from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints waiting for him that suspiciously looked like a mission call. He had to wait for all of the family to get home before he could open it -he almost wore a hole in the floor. At 5:30 everyone finally got home and he opened the call… he will be serving in the Chile Concepcion, Spanish speaking, Mission. He will enter the Mission Training Center in Provo, Utah June 11, 2008. Spencer is extremely excited and wishes he could go sooner. We love Spencer so much and know he is going to be a great missionary. We appreciate his good example and his willingness to serve.
